BURLINGTON CITY ARTS FOUNDATION

The BCA Foundation (BCAF) is a private, non-profit, 501 (c) (3), organization that was formed in 1998 with the goal of helping to assure that the resources are available to support the mission of Burlington City Arts (BCA), a municipal agency, and the region’s cultural community.

Burlington City Arts imagines a world in which everyone experiences the power and joy of the arts. For 40 years, this vision has driven the organization to create opportunities for artists to learn, create, and thrive. To help people of all ages, races, abilities, and incomes access high-quality arts experiences. To foster dialogue and showcase different points of view, and to meet our community’s most pressing needs through the arts.

The BCAF has a track record of success, having led the effort to raise $3.5 million to renovate the Ethan Allen Firehouse into a five floor arts center (the BCA Center) between 1999 and 2004, and more recently in 2016, spearheading fundraising to support the move of BCA Studios to 405 Pine Street. In 2019, the BCAF raised funds to purchase 405 Pine Street, and is advancing a new, multi-phased capital campaign to expand affordable art and community space in Burlington’s South End.

In addition to fundraising, the BCAF manages special projects and supports artists and small organizations as a fiscal sponsor through its Artist Grants Program.
